Dr Antonio Tsahtsarlis neurosurgeon, brain surgeon, spine surgeon

Dr Antonio Tsahtsarlis completed his neurosurgery training in Australia after receiving an Honours degree from the University of Sydney.  Tony then undertook further subspecialty training in complex spine surgery at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Canada. He is currently the Director of Neurosurgery at both the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Mater Private Hospital Brisbane as part of the Mater Centre for Neuroscience.

Tony is proud to be a founding member of the Back Assessment Clinic (BAC). He is an integral member of the Spine Trauma Team at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in collaboration with the Queensland Spinal Injuries Unit.  Tony has used his extensive experience in minimally invasive (keyhole) spine surgery to manage a wide variety of degenerative, traumatic and tumour pathologies. As part of his general practice, Dr Tsahtsarlis also has a particular interest in neuro-oncology, pituitary tumour surgery and cerebrovascular surgery. Tony is the co-chair of the Neuro-Oncology and Cerebrovascular Multidisciplinary Clinics. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and beautiful children.
