Dr Jason Papacostas trained in neurosurgery in Australia. He undertook further subspecialty training in paediatric neurosurgery in Brisbane, before travelling to North America and undertaking fellowships in epilepsy surgery and endoscopic skull base surgery at Foothills Hospital, Canada.
Dr Papacostas’ special interest areas include minimally invasive skull base surgery, awake cranial neurosurgery and epilepsy surgery. Jason pioneered Stereo EEG surgery for epilepsy patients in Queensland and he presents regularly on a national and international level.
Dr Papacostas has a large minimally invasive spine surgery practice and is a member of the RBWH spine team.
Dr Papacostas is a visiting neurosurgeon at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane as part of the Mater Centre for Neuroscience and is also employed as a consultant neurosurgeon at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He is proud to be a founding member of the Royal Brisbane Hospital pituitary multi-disciplinary clinic.
