Dr Robert Campbell Brain Surgeon, neurosurgeon, spin surgeon

Dr Robert Campbell trained in neurosurgery in Australia and New Zealand before undertaking further subspecialty training in paediatric and craniofacial neurosurgery at the Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Dr Campbell has over two decades of experience and during this time has championed the idea of patient-centred management, muti-specialist centres of excellence and neurosurgical services to regional Queensland.  He is the proud founding member of the Brisbane Clinical Neuroscience Centre and the Pituitary Specialist Centre where he manages patients requiring image-guided surgery for complex brain and pituitary tumours.  Other interest areas include spinal surgery, endoscopic surgical techniques for brain disease, surgery for epilepsy, trigeminal neuralgia and pain management.  Dr Campbell has performed hundreds of craniofacial operations and was proud to be appointed as Director of Neurosurgery at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, where he practices his other subspecialty area of paediatric neurosurgery.

Rob also has appointments as a consultant neurosurgeon at the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane as part of the Mater Centre for Neuroscience and the Mater Children’s Private Brisbane.  He is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland and enjoys investing in Australia’s future neurosurgeons.
