Endocrinologists

Dr Winnifred Lee

Dr Winnifred Lee

Dr Winnifred Lee is a Consultant Endocrinologist and Obstetric Physician. She graduated from the University of Queensland with First Class Honours and a University Medal. Winnifred has had public appointments at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Mater Hospital as an endocrinologist, now working only privately at the Mater Hospital and at Brisbane Diabetes Endocrinology. She has more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of endocrinology including pituitary disease. She also has general medical expertise and provides patients competent holistic care.

She maintains her professional standards by being a member of the Endocrine Society of Australia, the US Endocrine Society, the Australian Diabetes Society and the Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Benjamin Sly

Dr Benjamin Sly

Dr Benjamin Sly is a Consultant Endocrinologist providing outpatient care at Brisbane Diabetes Endocrinology and inpatient care at the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane. He also works in the Endocrinology Department at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Dr Sly graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery and completed his endocrinology training at Cairns Base Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He is a current PhD candidate at the University of Queensland focusing on the management of diabetes in the digital hospital environment.

Dr Sly sees patients with diabetes and any general endocrinology conditions. He has a special interest in diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disease and pituitary disorders.

He is a member of the Endocrine Society of Australia, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the Australian Diabetes Society and the Health Information Society of Australia.

Radiation Oncologist

Assoc Prof Matthew Foote

Associate Professor Matthew Foote is a Radiation Oncologist who is an internationally recognised specialist in the management of brain tumours, including pituitary tumours.  Having completed his specialist training in Brisbane in 2009, A/Prof Foote undertook further sub-specialist training in stereotactic (brain and spine) radiosurgery and neuro-oncology at the world-renowned Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto.

Commencing at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2010 and Greenslopes Private Hospital in 2012, A/Prof Foote has extensive experience in the multidisciplinary management of pituitary and parasellar tumours.  He established and is Co-Director of the Gamma Knife Centre of Queensland, is a founding member and current Chair of the Stereotactic Interest Group of Australasia (SIGA) and is current Chair of the International Clinical Research Subcommittee (ICRS) of the Cooperative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology (COGNO).  He is a  board member of the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society (ISRS) and was awarded University of Toronto Alumnus of the Year, 2019, in recognition of services to the field of radiation oncology.  A/Prof Foote is experienced in the development and completion of practice changing clinical trials and has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications many in the field of brain tumour.

A/Prof Foote is a specialist who is committed to providing patient focussed care and is at the forefront of innovative radiotherapy practice.

Pain Medicine Physician

Dr Josh Daly

Dr Joshua Daly

Dr Joshua Daly is a Pain Medicine Physician and Specialist Anaesthetist. Specific areas of interest for Dr Daly is in the accurate diagnosis and use of evidence based treatments for chronic pain conditions with the goal of facilitating maximal functional recovery.

Dr Daly has travelled throughout Australia and to the United Kingdom to broaden his interventional skill set with plans of travelling to the United States and Europe in 2017 to further the range of procedures on offer to patients with unique pain conditions.

Dr Daly has public appointments at two of Brisbane’s largest tertiary hospitals (The Princess Alexandra hospital and Royal Brisbane & Women’s hospital) and works privately throughout Brisbane.

Dr Daly completed his Medical Degree at the University of New South Wales, Sydney and returned to QLD where he completed specialist medical training and was awarded dual fellowship in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine. He has also completed the ABIME certification exams and is an Independent Medical Examiner.

He was awarded the Australian Society of Anaesthetists Chairman’s award for his creation of a website and mobile phone app to help anaesthetists manage unexpected crisis situations. He has presented at major national conferences on the topics of crisis management for anaesthetists and emerging pain therapies for pain medicine physicians.
